Service life of brake pads
The country has not mandated the lifespan of brake pads in kilometers, as the usage of vehicles is very complex. However, there are still standardized quality standards for the durability of automotive brake pads. For example, regarding disc brake calipers and brake pads, the standard stipulates that their durability should be able to brake 500000 times at room temperature, 70000 times at high temperature (120 ℃), and over 45000 times at low temperature (-40 ℃) when subjected to a hydraulic pressure of 7Mpa. In daily use, ordinary brake pads should be inspected after 25000 kilometers, and the replacement time should be determined based on the specific wear condition. The mileage specified by the manufacturer may vary depending on the vehicle model.
If we have to give a specific mileage lifespan, usually brake pads can guarantee a distance of 30000 kilometers.
The frequency of vehicles stopping and driving on the road and the braking habits of drivers are important factors. Generally speaking, cars that drive on urban roads for a long time have significantly shorter brake pad replacement cycles than those that drive on highways for a long time. Vehicles that drive on mountain roads have shorter replacement cycles than those that drive on flat roads, and trucks have shorter replacement cycles than light vehicles.
Brake pads and brake shoes are vulnerable and safety components that need to be replaced regularly. When the thickness of the brake pads wears out to a certain extent, they must be replaced. At this time, the vehicle's electronic or mechanical alarm will remind the owner to replace them through warning lights or noise. Generally speaking, the wear level of brake pads or brake shoes in the same axle direction is consistent and needs to be replaced simultaneously.
